The industrial complex of Gemopolis is one of the most integrated and complete of its kind in the world and as such has received investment promotion privileges from the Board of Investment and special industrial estate status from the Industrial Estates Authority of Thailand.
With the dramatic rise in the demand for custom cut diamonds in 1989/90, Royal Diamond Polishing Works and Royal Diamond Cutting Co., Ltd were founded to provide top-quality cut diamonds to both companies within the group and other companies within Thailand. Needing an administrative headquarters for all companies within the group, Beauty Gems Group Co., Ltd. was founded in 1992. It was predicted that there would be, in 1994, a significant growth in the gems and jewelry market in the U.S.A.. To capitalise on this opportunity, Beauty Gems of U.S.A. Co., Ltd. was founded. More recently in 1996 Beauty Gems Holdings Co., Ltd. was established to function as a shareholder both within Thailand and abroad. The remit of the new company was also to diversify the groups portfolio beyond the gems and jewelry sector.
